ABOUT US

The Ebenezer Methodist Guild, with its inception in the year 2005 and formal inauguration on the 24th of July of the same year, stands as a testament to a rich history rooted in community service and collective commitment. Founded with an initial membership of 18 dedicated individuals, its genesis was marked by the visionary leadership of the late Bro Justice Eyiah, who served as its esteemed first president.
Under Bro Justice Eyiah’s stewardship, the guild experienced a period of promising growth and active engagement within the community. However, the untimely passing of Bro Justice Eyiah on the 11th of June, 2006, not only marked a profound loss to the guild but also precipitated a period of transition and challenge. His demise triggered a decline in membership and necessitated a recalibration of leadership dynamics.

In the wake of this unfortunate loss, the responsibility of steering the guild fell upon the capable shoulders of Sis Monica Eyiah, who, assuming the role of acting president, admirably endeavored to sustain and uphold the values and objectives set forth by her late husband. Through her leadership and unwavering dedication, the guild persevered, albeit amid challenges, ensuring its continuity and resilience during a transitional phase.

The initial executive committee, comprising individuals of diverse talents and expertise, played pivotal roles in shaping the guild’s early framework. Alongside Bro Justice Eyiah and Sis Monica Eyiah, these individuals included Sis. Christine Addai as Secretary, Bro. Philip Susu as Financial Secretary, Sis Elizabeth as Treasurer, Bro. Kwasi Pantisil as Chaplain, and Nii Welbeck as Organizer. Together, they formed a cohesive unit, each contributing their unique skills and commitment to the guild’s mission.

Though the guild faced adversities following the passing of its founding president, the collective efforts and steadfast dedication of its members ensured its continuity. It stands today as a testament to resilience, community engagement, and the enduring spirit of service that remains at its core.
